General questions:

This section covers what Buzzcut is, how it works, and basic compatibility. If your building’s buzzer dials a phone number, Buzzcut can make it smart using a virtual number and app-based controls—no extra hardware or Wi-Fi required.

Buzzcut is a smart layer for existing buzzer systems. If your building’s buzzer calls a phone number, Buzzcut can intercept that call and convert it into a modern, app-based experience—with triggers, automation, and group access.

Buzzcut works with any buzzer system that dials out to a phone number. If your buzzer calls your phone to grant access, it’s likely compatible with Buzzcut.

A Buzzcut number is a virtual phone number (VOIP) that acts as a smart gateway between your building’s buzzer and your group. Buzzcut controls how this number behaves using rules you set inside the app.

Nope! Buzzcut works purely through the phone network. As long as the buzzer calls a phone number, Buzzcut can intercept and handle that call.

Service details:

Here, you'll find details about how Buzzcut works in shared living situations, multi-property support, international availability, and trial options. Buzzcut is group-based, so roommates can share access under one subscription.

Absolutely. Buzzcut subscriptions are tied to a group, not a single user. You can add roommates or family members to your group, and they’ll have access to the same smart features.

Right now, Buzzcut is designed to work with one buzzer at a time. If you have multiple properties, you can create separate groups for each one.

Buzzcut currently supports numbers in select countries. Check the app or contact support to see if your country is on the list.

We currently offer a 14-day trial period so you can test compatibility with your building before committing to a subscription.

Procedures:

This section explains how to set up, move, or remove Buzzcut. It walks you through the steps to get started, change buildings, or manage your group and number—all easily handled through the app.

Your Buzzcut account is tied to your Buzzcut number. If your new building has a compatible buzzer system, you can deactivate your old number and set up the new one within the app in just a few steps.

  1. Download the app

  2. Generate a Buzzcut number

  3. Program that number into your building’s buzzer system

  4. Set up triggers or invite your group
    Done.

Simply go into your building's buzzer directory and replace the Buzzcut number with your personal phone number—or delete it entirely.

Currently, group ownership and numbers are managed by the original admin. We're working on making group transfers easier in future updates.
